Sylvie Covey Design

Sylvie Covey was born in France. After traveling the world she established herself in New York as an accomplished artist printmaker, painter and photographer. Her work is exhibited in international museums and venues. She authored the books "Photoshop for Artists" and "Modern Printmaking", published by Penguin/Random House, and teaches printmaking at the Fashion Institute of Technology and at the Art Students League of New York. "Sylvie Covey Design was created when I recently built a botanical art studio upstate New York, and concentrated on botanical printing. I use only natural dyes from plants and roots to extract colors. The tannin from leaves and flowers reacts to iron and rust during the steam process. I first experimented with paper and linen, and now work with 100% silk only, for the rich luxurious results in colors and feel."
